Our Local Suppliers

  • Electric Bear Brewing

Brewed on the edge of Bath. They claim they’re happy being on the edge as ‘it’s where the interesting things happen’. Electric Bear brew four new craft beers a month, and we stock a selection, including their alcohol-free option Unruly AF.

  • Hobbs House Bakery

Not the closest, but we’ve hunted high and low for a more local source of bread – and one that can match their amazing pastries. Based in Chipping Sodbury, Hobbs bake most of their products by hand and bring us fresh bread and pastries on a Saturday and a top up of everyday loaves in the week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

  • Ish Bakes

Is there anyone in the village who doesn’t know Ish? His baking is legendary – with Carolyn’s able support – and the cakes are often snapped up as soon as they arrive! Ish usually bakes on a Thursday afternoon, so your cake will see you through the weekend (if you can manage not to eat it all at once).

  • Lacock Dairy Ice Cream

A delicious range of small-batch ice creams and gelato made with love and only the finest ingredients in the Italian way, but just a few miles away in Reybridge. Personally delivered by the ever-patient Tony when we ring in a panic because we’ve almost run out! Try the coffee and cardamom …

  • Nailsea Cider

Sam and a small group of friends rekindled Nailsea’s cider-making past, making small batches of cider from local trees and orchards and we’re delighted to stock two of their product lines in the shop.

  • Padfield Porkies

Sandra and her family raise their pigs on their farm in Seend. They do their own butchery and turn the pork into a range of products including not just ham, bacon and sausages, but legendary scotch eggs and sausage rolls, which they deliver to us on Tuesdays and Fridays.

  • Plank's Dairy

The Plank family have been supplying milk from their Poulshot dairy for over 7 decades. They bring our milk, but also butter, cheese and double cream and deliver to us on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

  • Southview Farm Eggs

We get our eggs from Southview, on the Bradford Road near Fiveways. Their 3,000 free-range hens roam outside and forage in the fresh air amongst the farm’s willow trees. ‘A happy hen lays a happy egg’ is their motto, and we know you all love their eggs, as we are frequently phoning them to bring more! Deliveries come in on Friday.

  • Wiltshire Chilli Farm

You could hardly get any closer to the shop. With polytunnels only a field away their chilli sauces, jams and chutneys don’t even clock up a food mile on their way to us, but we did have a customer who drove from Salisbury to buy some to send to his son in Turkey!
